Life at the Sheppard's

We have been trying to decided if our kid is a smart or just really weird. I came down stairs and he had piled his toys in this nice little pile. We are use to his piles of toys because he likes them all together, but the way he had this pile stacked was crazy. The jury is still out but thought it was a interesting picture to share. His modeling career is about to begin. these pictures just make me laugh. The jacket he is wearing is really suppose to be on a bear but he was determined that he was going to wear it. We put it on and here are the pictures we were able to capture. Which is your favorite??

Our Little pirate. He was super excited to put the costume on. I think it was to boots. We were going for a smile but I guess the face fits the outfit.

It's about Freaking Time!!!

So I realize it has been over a year since I posted but I decided that I really need to do this. So here we go. Since the last time we have had another birthday for Kota. He is now 2!!! I can't believe it. We wanted to have a fun beach themed party since we built him a sandbox but it rained so we had to have it in the garage. I also forgot to take my own pictures so the pictures our all from my mother-in-law.(Thanks June for being our photographer for the day.)
It was still fun to have everyone over for dinner and cake. Kota loves the sandbox even though he had to wait a few days after his birthday.
I plan on keeping this up but there are no guarantees. So enjoy this one because it may be another year.

Bad Mom moment...

So we taught Kota sign language and he does so good. Tonight I fed him dinner then he snacked til bed and then he had his normal bottle before bed. We put him down for bed. Then he cried and cried. I waited for like 20 min then he started to get really mad. I go and check on him and talk to him and he starts signing eat. I'm like "no you have to go to bed." I put him back to bed and he cries so I let him sit on our bed with Aaron and he starts to sign eat again. I still thought you have to be kidding me. So back to bed he goes and then the crying starts again. About 10 min and I go in there and pick him up we start to rock and what does he do... he signs eat. So I decided lets feed him but I'll be so mad if he doesn't eat. We make him some oatmeal and he eats the whole bowl. So now he's in bed sleeping and didn't cry at all. Lesson learned.

Kota's 1st Birthday!!!

I still can't believe that I have a 1 year old. It's weird. So for his big day we actually had to celebrate it a little early due to Harvest and I figured it would be important for his dad to be at his party so we had it on Sunday the 23rd instead of the 26th. I decided to do pirate theme and I actually had a whole pirate outfit for him but ran out of time to get him ready and I figured he wouldn't keep the extra stuff on anyways so what's the point cause then he'd just be wearing striped pants. It was so fun planning and making the stuff for the party though. I can't wait to plan the next one. Especially because I should be able to get him to play games and stuff. Well sorry it took so long to do and update but here you go.

These are the cutest cookies, if i say so myself. I had to wait and frost them after Kota went to bed because he was the biggest pain the day I made the sugar cookies but I even got Aaron to frost some but he thought I was crazy for wanting to make them.

So here's that treasure. I had this whole idea of making the food table look like a treasure map and placing the cake and the end but of course it was raining and we had to move it into the house were there was not enough room but what to you do. The cake was pretty easy and the other kids loved it.

Kota loved all his new toys and Aaron had to not only help him open the gifts but had to take each one out of the box and let him play with each on along the way. Kota could care less he would look and the new toy then just go get his old toys while the other kids tried out the new ones.

I think he did eat a little cake but most was all over the floor and the balloon that he played with in the middle and then of course himself.

After his bath we decided that we would take a picture of all his loot. He was definitely spoiled.
